When William Inge’s Natural Affection opened on Broadway in 1962 amid a newspaper strike, the run lasted for just 36 performances. Now, The Actors Company Theatre is presenting the first NYC revival of the dark drama, which stars Tony nominee Kathryn Erbe as a single mother who takes up with a new lover on the eve of her troubled son’s return home. Erbe is joined by Broadway and TV vet John Pankow as well as Alec Beard, Eve Bianco, Victoria Mack, Tobi Aremu and Chris Bert. The Jen Thompson-directed engagement runs from September 17 through October 26, at off-Broadway's Beckett Theatre, but you can score an intriguing first look at the new production in our gallery below.
