Get to know The Old Friends for one more week! The off-Broadway world premiere of Horton Foote’s drama has been extended for one week at the Irene Diamond Stage. The acclaimed production will now play through October 13 at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
Directed by Michael Wilson, The Old Friends stars Tony winner Betty Buckley, Tony nominees Veanne Cox, Hallie Foote and Lois Smith, Adam LeFevre, Sean Lyons, Novella Nelson, Melle Powers and Cotter Smith.
The Old Friends tells the story of matriarch Mamie Borden (Smith) and the remaining members of two longtime Texas farming families, who are waiting for a visit from Mamie’s son Hugo and his wife Sybil (Foote). When Sybil finally arrives with terrible news, old friends on opposing sides confront the issues of legacy, loyalty and the meaning of happiness that have hounded them for decades.
