Stars from some of Broadway’s biggest musicals will come together on October 7 to perform a one-night-only concert version of Ryan Scott Oliver’s 35 MM: A Musical Exhibition in Concert. The first of three concert presentations celebrating the work of Oliver will include Krysta Rodriguez (First Date), Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening) and Derek Klena (Wicked). The evening will feature direction by DB Bonds and musical direction by Rich Silverstein.
In addition to Rodriguez, Pritchard and Klena, 35MM will include Zachary Levi (First Date) Lesli Margherita (Matilda), Jenni Barber (Annie), Katie Thompson (Giant), Kate Shindle (Legally Blonde), Nick Blaemire (Godspell), Alysha Umphress (American Idiot), Preston Sadleir (Next to Normal), original New York cast members Ben Crawford (Big Fish) and Alex Brightman (Big Fish) and composers/performers David Reiser and Drew Gasparini. The quartet will be comprised of Ally Bonino, Max Chernin, Chris McCarrell and Andrea Ross.
In 35mm, each of Gotta Dance! photographer Matthew Murphy’s photos are the inspiration for a song. The show premiered in New York in March 2012 with at the Galapagos Art Space.
The band for 35MM includes Matt Hinkley, Steven Cuevas, Allison Seidner, Rich Silverstein, Joseph Wallace and Jeremy Yaddaw.
