She's not gonna be ignored, DAN!
Fatal Atraction, the steamy Hollywood hit about an extramarital affair gone wrong, is headed to the London stage. Tony-winning director Trevor Nunn (Les Miserables, Cats) will helm a new stage adaptation of the 1987 film at the West End’s Theatre Royal Haymarket. Written by original screenwriter James Dearden, the play will begin performances March 8, 2014, and open on March 25. Casting will be announced soon for the show, which will play a limited engagement through June 21.
Fatal Attraction tells the story of Dan Gallagher, a successful New York lawyer with a loving family. After having a one-night-stand with Alex Forrest, he assumes he can walk away without consequence, but Alex becomes obsessed with Dan, aggressively pursuing both him and his family. The Hollywood blockbuster starred Glenn Close, Michael Douglas and Anne Archer. It garnered six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Close.
This is not the first time the film has been adapted for the stage. Hollywood bad boy Corey Feldman played Dan in the 2005 off-Broadway spoof Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy by Alana McNair and Kate Wilkinson.
