Kristin Chenoweth in Talks to Scare Up Thrills with Jennifer Lopez in The Boy Next Door

Is Kristin Chenoweth about to fulfill her dream of being in a horror movie?

The Tony winner is in negotiations to join Jennifer Lopez in the new thriller The Boy Next Door, which comes from the producers behind Insidious, Sinister and the massively popular (and certifiably ruin-your-khakis scary) Paranormal Activity series. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news.

Chenoweth would play the best friend of Lopez’s character, a newly single mother who begins an illicit affair with the teenager next door, only he isn’t very keen on letting her go after she abruptly bails on the romance. (Think Fatal Attraction, but with J. Lo instead of G. Clo.) The low-budget flick is directed by Rob Cohen, and will shoot later this fall.

We’re not saying that Chenoweth’s fake horror movie audition on Ellen in 2010 has anything to do with her casting, buuut it’s Friday so let’s watch it anyway:
