Can you pinpoint the exact moment you knew you were destined for the spotlight? Broadway veterans and theater fans will share those memories at the fourth annual Born for Broadway gala, which will celebrate the magic of the Great White Way on September 30 at 54 Below.
The fourth annual celebrity cabaret will feature performances from Broadway stars who will share stories about their stage debuts, the first show they ever saw and which performers inspired them to become actors. Tony nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge will direct the event, and Lawrence Yurman will serve as musical director.
The evening’s performers and stars will include Aaron Lazar (Mamma Mia!), Adrian Bailey (The Little Mermaid), Ali Stroker (TV’s The Glee Project), Andrew Samonsky (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Annaleigh Ashford (Kinky Boots), Annie Funke (If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet), Betsy Wolfe (Bullets Over Broadway), Carmen Ruby Floyd (After Midnight), Carole Lasser, Chris Pinnella (Trans Siberian Orchestra), Graham Rowat (Mamma Mia!), Howard McGillin (The Phantom of the Opera), Jim Brochu (Zero Hour), John Tartaglia (Avenue Q), Karen Akers (Nine), Kathleen Monteleone (Hands on a Hardbody), Marissa Perry (Sister Act), Peter Scolari (Lucky Guy), Steve Rosen (Peter and the Starcatcher) and Timothy McDevitt (Carousel).
The gala event will also feature a screening of selected videos submitted by fans, who can join the campaign by sending in a video on Facebook.
