Les Miserables alum Eddie Redmayne has boarded the cast of James Marsh’s upcoming film The Theory of Everything, which will follow the life of physicist Stephan Hawking, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Joining fellow Broadway vet Felicity Jones, Redmayne (a Tony winner for Red) will star in the film penned by Anthony McCarten, based on Jane Hawking’s memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life witih Stephen. The movie will take a look at Hawking, specifically his 1960s romance with arts student Jane Wilde, as well as his life following a fatal diagnosis at age 21. The Cambridge cosmology student went on to become one of the world’s most celebrated physicists and greatest intellectual minds.
Redmayne and Jones join a cast that already includes buzzy names like David Thewlis, Emily Watson, Charlie Cox, Simon McBurney, Maxine Peake and Harry Lloyd. Filming will take place in the U.K.
