Audra McDonald Takes a Road Trip to Little Miss Sunshine to Cheer On Husband Will Swenson

A very special visitor jumped into the Little Miss Sunshine van on October 18: Audra McDonald! The five-time Tony winner couldn’t wait to catch a performance of the brand new musical, which stars her husband, Will Swenson, as dad and motivational speaker Richard Hoover. Directed and adapted from the 2006 movie by James Lapine and featuring a score by William Finn, Little Miss Sunshine tells the story of a dysfunctional family who takes a trip to California to enter eccentric young daughter Olive (played by Hannah Rose Nordberg) in the Little Miss Sunshine pageant. After her hilarious road trip, McDonald headed backstage to greet her husband and the cast, including Stephanie J. Block, Rory O’Malley, Wesley Taylor and more.
