Roundabout Theatre Company’s upcoming revival of Dinner with Friends, which was set to begin performances on January 10, 2014, has delayed its start date until January 17. Donald Margulies' Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, starring Tony nominees Jeremy Shamos and Maria Dizzia, Darren Pettie and Marin Hinkle, will now officially open on February 13 at the Laura Pels Theatre, rather than the originally planned February 4 date. With the opening pushed back, the production will now play a limited engagement through April 13.
Directed by Tony winner Pam McKinnon, Dinner with Friends follows Karen (Hinkle) and Gabe (Shamos), who played matchmaker with their friends Beth (Dizzia) and Tom (Pettie). Ever since, the two couples have been inseparable—going to the Vineyard every summer, raising their kids and enjoying countless dinners together. But when one marriage unexpectedly crumbles, the couples' lives begin to veer in opposite directions. Can these four friends move on to the next chapter without moving apart or have they changed beyond recognition?
Dinner with Friends will feature scenic design by Allen Moyer, costume design by Ilona Somogyi, lighting design by Jane Cox and original music and compositions by Joshua Schmidt.
