Emmy winner Tina Fey, along with stage favorites (from left above) Jenni Barber, Leslie Kritzer, Michael Esper, Daniel Breaker, Michael Shannon, Quincy Tyler Bernstine and playwright-turned-stage-directions-reader Amy Herzog, joined forces to bring Craig Lucas' hallucinatory Christmas fable Reckless to New York audiences on October 28. The dark comedy (which debuted at off-Broadway's Circle Repertory Theatre in 1989 and was revived on Broadway in 2004 starring Mary-Louise Parker) was given a reading at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre benefitting Safe Horizon, an organization that helps victims of violence restore their lives. Reckless follows Rachel (Fey), a housewife who discovers her husband has hired a hit man to kill her and must flee for her life—which she does by scrambling out the kitchen window. Check out our Hot Shot of this star-studded event, directed by Kate Whoriskey and produced by the Indigo Theatre Project, and let's hope it inspires Fey to make her stage debut!
