What do tiny telekinetic children, Smokey Robinson and nuns have in common? They’re all taking the stage at the 87th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! The televised event will feature performances by Matilda and Motown the Musical, as well as the forthcoming NBC telecast of The Sound of Music, starring Carrie Underwood. The parade will be broadcast November 28 at 9 AM.
A few notable Broadway favorites will also march through the Big Apple on turkey day, including Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth, Smash alum Megan Hilty and queen of “The Popular Song,” Ariana Grande. Cirque du Soleil and The Rockettes are also on tap to perform.
Hosted by Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie, the parade will also feature Big Apple Circus, Gavin DeGraw, Brett Eldredge, Fall Out Boy, Jimmy Fallon and the Roots with the cast of Sesame Street (sounds awesome), Fifth Harmony, Florida Georgia Line, Goo Goo Dolls, Jack Hannah, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Sandra Lee, Cher Lloyd, Austin Manhone, Mannheim Stemroller, Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri, Debby Ryan, Richard Simmons and the Summer Set.
