Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood's big screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Jersey Boys will hit the silver screen next summer! According to The Hollywood Reporter, the highly anticipated movie, starring Tony winner John Lloyd Young, Vincent Piazza, Michael Lomenda and Erich Bergen as Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, will officially land in theaters on June 20, 2014.
Written by Tony-winning scribes Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, Jersey Boys tells the story of how Frankie Valli (Young), Bob Gaudio (Bergen), Tommy DeVito (Piazza) and Nick Massi (Lomenda) became one of the top-singing groups of the 1960s before they even turned 30. Like the show, the film will incorporate hits such as “Sherry,” “Oh What a Night,” Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”
The cast of the Jersey Boys movie also includes Christopher Walken (as Gyp DeCarlo), Joey Russo (as Joe Pesci), Jeremy Luke (as Donnie), Mike Doyle (as Bob Crewe), Donnie Kehr (as Norm Waxman), Johnny Cannizzaro (as Nick DeVito), Erica Piccininni (as Lorraine) and Kathrine Narducci (as Mary Rinaldi), Freya Tingley (as Francine Valli) and Renée Marino (as Mary Delgado).
Jersey Boys continues its run at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre and stars Dominic Scaglione Jr., Andy Karl, Broadway.com video blogger Drew Gehling and Matt Bogart. The musical opened on November 6, 2005, and won four 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
