Cast Album for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Stephen Ward to Release Early, Arrives December 30

It’s music to our ears! The release date of the original London cast recording of the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical Stephen Ward has been moved up. The cast album will now be released by Decca Records in mid-December digitally and arrive in stores December 30. The album was originally slated to drop in March but strong public interest has pushed it forward.

Directed by five-time Olivier winner Richard Eyre, Stephen Ward stars Alexander Hanson and Charlotte Spencer and begins previews December 3 at the Aldwych Theatre, with an official opening night set for December 19.

Featuring a book and lyrics by Christopher Hampton and Don Black (who also worked with Lloyd Webber on Sunset Boulevard), Stephen Ward tells the story of Stephen Ward (Hanson), an osteopath who meets the young and beautiful Christine Keeler (Spencer) in a West End night club, and how their chance meeting led to one of the biggest political scandals and trials of the 20th century.
