Off-Broadway can't get enough of the sultry boys of Small Engine Repair as it receives its second extension at the Lucille Lortel Theatre! Directed by Jo Bonney, the dark and twisted comedy had already been extended once and set to run through December 15, but now must end on December 21.
Starring John Pollano (Showtime's Masters of Sex), James Badge Dale (AMC's Rubicon), James Ransone (HBO's The Wire) and Keegan Allen (Pretty Little Liars), Small Engine Repair follows three washed up high school buddies Frank (Pollono), Swaino (Dale) and Packie (Ransone), buddies since high school who meet off-hours in Frank’s middle of nowhere repair shop under sketchy circumstances. When Chad (Allen), a clued-up, preppy college jock arrives it sparks an eruption of long-simmering bitterness and indignation in this winding, comic thriller.
The creative team for Small Engine Repair includes scenic design by Richard Hoover, costume design by Theresa Squire, lighting design by Lap Chi Chu and sound design by Jill BC Du Boff. The play premiered in 2011 at the Rogue Machine Theatre in Los Angeles, and won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Playwriting as well as an Ovation Award and three Garland Awards.
