Golden Globe nominee Rebecca Hall (The Town, Vicky Cristina Barcelona) is about to make her Broadway debut in Roundabout Theatre Company's first-ever of Great White Way revival of Sophie Treadwell's Machinal. Co-starring The Winslow Boy's Michael Cumpsty, Morgan Spector and Olivier Award winner Suzanne Bertish, the play is inspired by the 1927 murder trial and execution of Ruth Snyder. For the Young Woman (Hall), a stenographer in the industrial, male-dominated world of the 1920s, life is nothing like she hoped it would be, and she finds her only joy in the form of an illicit love affair. Directed by Lindsey Turner, Machinal is scheduled to open on January 16, 2014, at the American Airlines Theatre.
