Tony Nominee Annaleigh Ashford Swaps Kinky Boots for More Sex

You might want to send Kinky Boots stunner Annaleigh Ashford a bottle of tequila. The Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner will depart the Tony-winning musical “sometime in March” to be a series regular on Masters of Sex, according to Deadline.com.

Ashford, who has had an arc on the Showtime drama, will continue to play Betty DiMello, a sassy prostitute (and expert at faking orgasms among other attributes) who is paid to help human sexuality researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson.

Ashford was nominated for a 2013 Tony Award for her role as loyal and lovesick factory worker Lauren in Kinky Boots. Her other notable stage credits include Broadway's Legally Blonde and Wicked and off-Broadway's Rent and Dogfight. No Kinky Boots replacement has been named yet.
