Divine decadence darling! The full company for the forthcoming Broadway revival of Cabaret is complete. Bill Heck, Aaron Krohn and Gayle Rankin have joined the Roundabout Theatre Company production as Cliff Bradshaw, Ernst Ludwig and Fraulein Kost, respectively. The trio will star alongside headliners Alan Cumming (as the Emcee) and Michelle Williams (as Sally Bowles) in the revival, which will begin performances at Studio 54 on March 21, 2014, and open on April 24.
Heck made his Broadway debut in Brooklyn Boy. His other stage credits include Water By The Spoonful, Orphan's Home Cycle, Most Promising Actor, Angels in America and The Merchant of Venice. Heck's film and TV credits include HBO's upcoming The Leftovers and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Krohn is curently appearing in Lincoln Center Theater's Macbeth. His other Broadway credits include The Farnsworth Invention, The Coast of Utopia, Julius Caesar, Henry IV and The Invention of Love. Krohn's TV credits include Boardwalk Empire and Law & Order: SVU. Rankin appeared off-Broadway in The Illusion and Tribes. Her film and TV credits include Law & Order: SVU, East of Acadia and The Missionary.
As previously announced, the cast of Cabaret will also feature four-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein and two-time nominee Linda Emond as Herr Schultz and Fraulein Schneider, respectively. Written by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Joe Masteroff, Cabaret is set in a seedy nightclub called the Kit Kat Club in 1930s Berlin where a young English cabaret performer (Williams) encounters an American writer (Heck), under the watchful eye of a zealous Master of Ceremonies (Cumming).
The Kit Kat Klub boys and girls (a.k.a. the ensemble) will feature Will Carlyon, Kaleigh Cronin, Caleb Damschroder, Benjamin Eakeley, Andrea Goss, Leeds Hill, Kristin Olness, Kelly Paredes, Jessica Pariseau, Dylan Paul, Jane Pfitsch, Evan Siegel and Stacey Sipowicz. See exclusive photos of them!
The production is a reprise mounting of the 1998 Tony-winning production of Cabaret, which boasted direction by Sam Mendes and co-direction/choreography by Rob Marshall. Both will recreate their Tony-nominated vision for the show, alongside the original design team, which includes set and club design by Robert Brill, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting by Peggy Eisenhauer and Mike Baldassari, and sound design by Brian Ronan.
