Cheers to a new year, Broadway buffs! That's right, it's time to pop the Champagne, break out the noisemakers, put on sparkly top hats and tiaras and make a New Year's resolution. Broadway.com resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson dreamed up an awesome Broadway New Year's Eve bash, complete with Cinderella and Lola downing bubbly, Elphaba bustin' a move, Mormons making friends with Matilda, Phantom dropping the Times Square ball and more. Look closely for characters from The Phantom of the Opera, Pippin, Kinky Boots, Matilda, Cinderella, Motown, Jersey Boys, Chicago, Spider-Man, Newsies, Rock of Ages, Jersey Boys, Wicked, Mamma Mia!, The Book of Mormon, Beautiful, A Night With Janis Joplin and Aladdin. Check out Squigs’ holiday portrait, then catch a show (or several!) on Broadway in 2014!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
