Real-life husband and wife actors and comedians Megan Mullaly and Nick Offerman will host the 29th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards, which honor the best in off-Broadway theater. The duo are set to appear together in the New Group’s Annapurna off-Broadway starting April 13. The ceremony will take place on May 4 at NYU Skirball Center.
Veteran theater producer Robyn Goodman will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Off-Broadway League also announced the addition of four acting categories, which will now honor performers in plays and musicals separately. The official end date of the 2013-2014 off-Broadway season is March 31, and nominations for the awards will be announced on April 1.
The big winners at last year's awards were The Whale, Dogfight and The Piano Lesson.
Emmy winner Mullally is best known for her television work as Karen on Will & Grace. She has appeared on Broadway in Young Frankenstein, Grease and How to Succeed in Business... Offerman currently plays Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation. Other screen credits include 21 Jump Street, Children's Hospital, We’re the Millers and Sin City.
