Jonathan Groff, Jessie Mueller, Krysta Rodriguez and more will perform at the ninth annual Broadway Backwards. Directed and choreographed by Robert Bartley, the one-night-only show is set for March 24 at the Al Hirschfield Theatre. Proceeds for the event will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
Joining Groff (Spring Awakening), Mueller (Beautiful) and Rodriguez (First Date) will be Bryan Batt (Mad Men), Tony nominee Stephanie J. Block (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Tony winner Len Cariou (Sweeney Tood), Tony nominee Robin De Jesus (La Cage aux Folles), Tony nominee Judy Kuhn (Fun Home), Cass Morgan (The Bridges of Madison County) and Patricia Morison (Kiss Me, Kate). Additional performers will be announced in the coming weeks.
Broadway Backwards is an annual celebration of gay and lesbian culture through musical theater performances by some of Broadway’s favorite actors.
2013's sold-out show raised a record-breaking $347,060 for the two organizations.
