We might just be bouncing in excitement in our desk chairs! The rumored Pushing Daisies musical, starring Kristin Chenoweth, could really be on the cards. The ABC series’ creator Bryan Fuller told E! Online that he’s in talks with director Barry Sonnenfeld and Warner Brothers Studios about reviving the show as either a Main Stem or movie musical.
"I would love to do a musical and make it all about Kristin Chenoweth and her character, Olive Snook," said Fuller. "I think it would be incredible!" You’re preaching to the converted about the four-time Broadway.com Audience Choice Award winner here, Mr. Fuller!
The TV comedy, which also starred Broadway alum Lee Pace as a pie-maker who could bring things back to life with his touch, ran on ABC from 2007 through 2009. The cast additionally featured Anna Friel, Chi McBride, Swoosie Kurtz and Broadway vet Ellen Greene. Chenoweth's work on the show earned her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
