Outside Mullingar's Debra Messing to Headline NBC Pilot Mysteries of Laura

Main Stem star Debra Messing has lined up another Big Apple gig after finishing her run in Outside Mullingar. According to TV Line, the Emmy winner will headline the NBC pilot Mysteries of Laura, which will be shot in New York at her request.

Mysteries of Laura is based on the Spanish series Los Misterios De Laura. Directed by McG, the pilot centers on a female homicide detective, played by Messing, who can deal with killer crooks, but not her naughty twin children.

Best known for her role as Grace Adler in NBC sitcom Will & Grace, Smash star Messing is currently making her Broadway debut in Manhattan Theatre Club's Outside Mullingar opposite Tony winner Brian F. O'Byrne. The romantic comedy will play a limited engagement through March 16.
