If you haven’t had enough of Jonathan Groff hanging out and hooking up in San Francisco, you’re in luck. HBO has picked up Groff’s gay-themed half-hour drama Looking for a second season, according to The Los Angeles Times.
“It's a very personal story, HBO programming honcho Michael Lombardo told the Times. “We made a conscious decision: Let's let this show sort of not have to justify its investment every year; we want it to live on its merits. I hope people invest their time in this show because it has something to say."
Looking, which premiered on January 19, is about three friends exploring the options available to a new generation of gay men. In addition to Broadway vet Groff as Patrick, it stars Frankie Alvarez as Agustin and Murray Bartlett as Dom. Cast members Lauren Weedman (Dom's sassy roomie Doris), Raul Castillo (Patrick's hot lover Richie) and Broadway alum Russell Tovey (Patrick's flirty boss Kevin) will all be bumped up to series regulars in the second season.
