Well, now we know!
Tony winner Idina Menzel is OFFICIALLY the Queen! Frozen’s "Let It Go" has won the 2014 Academy Award for Best Song. Written by Book of Mormon scribe Bobby Lopez and his wife, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, and performed in the film by Menzel, the song beat out tough competition, including U2’s “Ordinary Love” from the movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
The win means that Robert Lopez is the twelfth member to join the exclusive EGOT club. His Oscar will sit next to his two Daytime Emmy Awards (for Wonder Pets in 2008 and 2010), his Grammy (for The Book of Mormon cast album) and three Tony Awards (for Avenue Q in 2004 and The Book of Mormon in 2011).
Now, because there's no way hearing Menzel kill this song once tonight will do (wasn't she incredible on the telecast?!) it's time to click on the track for the gazillionth time!
