Music to our ears! Two-time Tony nominee Sherie Rene Scott is to release a new album, All Will Be Well: The Piece of Meat Studio Sessions on Sh-K-Boom Records. The album is based on the Tony nominee’s concert evening Piece of Meat, which debuted at the Times Square hotspot 54 Below last year, and will be available digitally from March 25.
“The album is about true love, and letting go of a way of being,” said Scott in a statement. “It’s about how to decide what to hang on to, and what to let go of.” The pop record combines contemporary rock, jazz and folk elements with interpretations of songs by Joni Mitchell, Talking Heads and Noah and the Whale as well as originals by Scott and Todd Almond, who serves as producer arranger and Music Director. Betsy Wolfe, Lindsay Mendez, Barrie McLain, Katie Britton, Michael Slattery and Michael Niederer are featured on backup vocals.
Scott received Tony nods for Everyday Rapture and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Her multiple Broadway credits also include Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, The Little Mermaid, Aida, Rent, Grease and The Who’s Tommy.
