Tracy Turnblads Unite! Nikki Blonsky, Ricki Lake & Marissa Jaret Winokur Headline New York Pops Gala

Three incarnations of Hairspray’s Tracy Turnblad—Nikki Blonsky (2007 movie), Ricki Lake (1988 movie) and Tony winner Marissa Jaret Winokur (Broadway), are uniting to make their Carnegie Hall debuts April 28 to mark the New York Pops' 31st birthday. They will also be joined by Smash star Katharine McPhee, Kerry Butler, Will Chase, Linda Hart and Jenifer Lewis. The Gala evening will celebrate the work of Hairspray writers Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

The evening will also feature the previously announced performers Christian Borle, Capathia Jenkins, Jane Krakowski, Patti LuPone, Andrea Martin and Martin Short, along with Broadway Inspirational Voices, Ronald McDonald House Rockin’ the House Band and Singers, Camp Broadway Kids and Kids On Stage Students.

Serving as Honorary Co-Chairs for the event are stars Matthew Broderick, Debra Messing and Sarah Jessica Parker.
