The trailer for the movie adaptation of Larry Kramer’s award-winning play The Normal Heart is out, and it looks like HBO got everything right. Directed by Ryan Murphy, the film is an unflinching look at the early days of the AIDS crisis with Mark Ruffalo and Julia Roberts leading a starry cast that includes Matt Bomer, Taylor Kitsch and Jim Parsons. Packed with politics, sex and heartbreak (not to mention a cast filled with Tony winners and stage alums), The Normal Heart is required viewing for all theater lovers. It premieres on HBO on May 25.
