We didn't expect Broadway to pop up on Bates Motel, but in the latest episode of A&E's brilliant Psycho prequel series, Norma Bates (Vera Fermiga) dragged troubled son Norman (SPOILER: He most likely just killed his teacher) to a friggin' musical theater audition! Although Norman didn't wind up trying out for the community theater production of South Pacific, Norma did (wowing the crowd with "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret). OK, clearly Norman isn't right for any of the roles in the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic, but we couldn't help but dream up five musical theater roles that the creepy kid could make a killing in!
Moritz in Spring Awakening
You know, cause he's totally f'd.
Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd
A no-brainer. You're never too young to start playing with knives.
Mark Cohen in Rent
I mean, isn't Mark a little troubled anyway? Also, Mom issues.
The Emcee in Cabaret
Forget two ladies—he's got two personalities.
Carmen Ghia in The Producers
Jesusssss, Norma! Let the kid have some FUN already!
