Lin-Manuel Miranda is on fire! This week, Broadway.com announced the Tony winner will headline tick, tick… BOOM! at Encores! (with his former In the Heights co-star Karen Olivo), and his long-in-the-works Hamilton musical will have its world premiere at the Public Theater. Now, Miranda is grabbing Heights alum Christopher Jackson and their Freestyle Love Supreme pals for four hip-hop performances at Lincoln Center’s Claire Tow Theater on March 21 and 22.
Freestyle Love Supreme takes cues from the audience and transforms them into fully realized hip-hop numbers. In addition to Miranda and Jackson, the performances will feature Chris “Shockwave” Sullivan, Andrew Bancroft, Arthur Lewis and Bill Sherman. The engagement will be directed by Thomas Kail.
Freestyle Love Supreme has previously performed at Joe’s Pub, the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival. Their first TV special aired in March on Pivot.
