Writer/director John Turturro’s movie Fading Gigolo, which will receive a limited release on April 18, is about a New York florist (played by Turturro), who makes extra cash servicing older, wealthy women at the suggestion of his boss-turned-pimp, played by Woody Allen. But the idea for the movie originally included a part for octogenarian Broadway legend Elaine Stritch.
“My original idea was to have [Stritch] as a retired nun who was a virgin who wanted to have sex before she died,” Turturro told Vanity Fair. “There was a scene where she goes to the bathroom and washes her face and when she looks up, she is, like, 25 years old with the nun’s habit with no clothes on. She comes out bare-assed and [gets] into bed. It blacks out. And then you see Elaine, 80, smoking a cigarette, saying, ‘Wow, that was it, huh?’ And she is really disappointed. The guy was like, ‘Well you have to practice.’”
Aww, John! We’d pay top dollar to see that! Check out the trailer for Fading Gigolo below.
