They’ll keep on fighting ‘til the end…and then some! Queen band member Brian May has revealed on his blog that a two-week workshop of a We Will Rock You sequel has recently been completed in London's Belsize Park. Few details were discussed by May, who referred to the project as “WWRY II – or TSMGO,” likely referring to the Queen song “The Show Must Go On.”
May shared a picture of himself with the cast, alongside WWRY book writer Ben Elton, saying, “My thanks to all for the passion that everyone put in…it was a wonderful ride. I was very proud of this compact but very powerful team.”
Packed with the hits of the legendary band, We Will Rock You tells the story of a young rebel named Galileo who tries to overtake a powerful corporation in a futuristic dystopia. The show includes 24 Queen songs, including “We Are the Champions,” “Another One Bites the Dust” and “Somebody To Love.” The musical opened in London’s West End in 2002 and is set to close on May 31. The show is currently playing a U.S. national tour.
