Lin-Manuel Miranda’s freestyle raps are making their way to TV airwaves! According to Variety, Pivot, a start-up cable network, will launch Freestyle Love Supreme, a 10-episode half-hour special series centered around the New York-based freestyle rap and comedy group that features the Tony winner. Back in 2011, Freestyle Love Supreme was set to get a pilot on the Adult Swim network.
The series will feature Miranda, In the Heights co-star Christopher Jackson and music arranger Bill Sherman, Arthur Lewis and The Electric Company’s Anthony Veneziale and Chris Sullivan. The show is created by Veneziale and In the Heights director Thomas Kail.
The group recently took to Lincoln Center’s Claire Tow Theater to perform Freestyle Love Supreme live for four performances.
