Grease Is the Word! Grease Live to Air on Fox in 2015

Go Greased Lightning! After the sky-high ratings for NBC’s The Sound of Music Live! last December, Fox has ordered Grease Live for broadcast in 2015. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Paramount TV live three-hour event will feature a young ensemble cast.

Grease Live will be based on Warren Casey and Jim Jacobs’ 1971 Broadway musical and the 1978 hit movie starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. The popular tuner follows teenagers in love during the soda shop culture of the 1950s.

Of course, we won’t have to wait until next year for our next live TV musical event: the Peacock network is reviving the musical Peter Pan, which will be broadcast live on December 4, 2014.
