Frozen’s Oscar-winning songwriting team Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez are developing a new musical, Up There. According to Deadline, the project will be helmed by Alex Timbers, who directed the current hits Rocky and Here Lies Love.
Timbers says Up There is “a boy-meets-girl, boy-loses-girl, boy-gets-back-girl romance with an overlay of Cirque.” The show is scheduled to open in 2015 at La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego.
No word yet on whether Up There is Broadway-bound, but since EGOT-er Lopez co-created both The Book of Mormon and Avenue Q, we wouldn’t be surprised if we're seeing it on the Great White Way sooner rather than later!
