The Tony-nominated play Casa Valentina has announced a two-week extension at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. The Manhattan Theatre Club production, under the direction of Tony-winner Joe Mantello, will now run through June 29. The play stars Reed Birney and Mare Winningham, who both received Tony nods for their performances, in addition to Gabriel Ebert, John Cullum and Patrick Page.
Written by Harvey Fierstein, Casa Valentina tells the story of a discrete venue for men who enjoy dressing up and acting as women. When the opportunity to become an official organization arises, the dress-donning men must decide whether this would help gain their clientele recognition in society or wreck havoc on their personal lives.
Additional cast members include Tom McGowan, Larry Pine, Nick Westrate, and Lisa Emery.
