Mad Men’s Elisabeth Moss is in negotiations to star in a revival of Wendy Wasserstein’s The Heidi Chronicles on the Great White Way. According to The New York Times, the production is eyeing the late winter or spring 2015.
Moss made her Broadway debut in October 2008 in the revival of David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow and her West End debut in 2011 in Lillian Hellman’s The Children’s Hour. She received a Golden Globe for her performance in Top of the Lake. Moss stars as Peggy Olson in the hit AMC series Mad Men, a role which has garnered her four Emmy nods. Other screen credits include The West Wing, Virgin, The Attic, Did You Hear About the Morgans, Grey’s Anatomy and Girl, Interrupted.
The Heidi Chronicles won both the Tony and the Pulitzer in 1989. This would be the first revival since the original production shuttered in 1990. The show spans over 20 years, following Heidi Holland from high school to her career as an art historian and how she copes with feminisim, men, politics and motherhood.
