Bonjour, Broadway! N—The Queen of Paris, a new musical inspired by Emile Zola’s classic French novel Nana, aims to hit the Great White Way in March 2016, following its world premiere at Toronto’s Elgin Theatre in September 2015 and a Chicago tryout in November 2015 at the Bank of America Theatre. The tuner will feature a book, music and lyrics by Ella Louise Allaire and Martin Lord Ferguson, who will also co-direct.
Zola’s Nana brings to life the Champagne atmosphere of 19th century Paris while telling the rags-to-riches romance of Nana Coupeau, a high-class courtesan thrown into the backstage world of Parisian theater.
N—The Queen of Paris will feature sets and props by Michael Curry. Further details, including casting and complete creative team, will be announced at a later time. Check out a first glimpse of the making of N—The Queen of Paris below!
