Pop the champagne, it’s time to celebrate! Andy Mientus, who plays love-struck revolutionary Marius in Les Miserables, has announced his engagement to his boyfriend, Broadway vet Michael Arden. The adorable pair made it official on Instagram, where Mientus wrote, "Come, woo me, woo me, for now I am in a holiday humour and like enough to consent. #engaged #andyandmichael.” Quoting As You Like It, Andy? What a catch! No wedding date has officially been announced, but we're expecting an invite, hint-hint.
Mientus is currently making his Great White Way debut in Les Miz, but his stint as Kyle Bishop on Smash’s second season made him an honorary member of the theater scene before he even stepped on a Broadway stage. His additional theater credits include the off-Broadway revival of Carrie and the national tour of Spring Awakening. Arden made his Broadway debut as Tom Sawyer in Big River before appearing in The Times They Are A-Changin’ and A Tale of Two Cities. His additional credits include Swimming in the Shallows, Aspects of Love and Bare.
Congratulations, Andy and Michael!
