Former Heathers Star Barrett Wilbert Weed's Next Gig Involves Taylor Swift
Missing Barrett Wilbert Weed after her abrupt exit from Heathers? The former Veronica will next be seen on stage at 54 Below with Jenn Damiano in A Taylor Swift Love Story on July 22. Conceived and directed by Kimberly Belflower and using selections from all four of Swift’s studio albums alongside intermittent spoken-word poetry and narration, the concert will construct a singular, chronological story and follow a journey of young love from beginning to end. Perhaps best to pass on the pâté and slushies if you happen to be in the audience at the Times Square hotspot.
Broadway Vets Marin Ireland & Sam Waterston Land TV Roles
Some good news out of Hollywood for these Great White Way alums. According to Deadline, Tony nominee Marin Ireland, most recently seen on Broadway in The Big Knife, will play Christian Borle’s wife in Masters of Sex. Meanwhile, Sam Waterston, who received a Tony nod for Abe Lincoln in Illinois, will appear in Netflix’s Grace and Frankie, which is headlined by Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
Terry Jones & Jim Steinman Working on Tchaikovsky Musical
Terry Jones, who has been busy reuniting with his Monty Python pals at London’s O2 Arena, is currently working on a musical based on the Nutcracker Suite with Meatloaf legend and Dance of the Vampires composer Jim Steinman. “He's written lyrics to Tchaikovsky and I wonder why no one else has before,” Jones told Chortle. “I'm directing it in Toronto in 2015.”
