Aladdin just set a whole new record. The Disney tuner made $1,602,785 this past week—its highest take since it began performances in February. The show broke the New Amsterdam Theatre's house record, which was previously held by Mary Poppins. Rounding out the top five were The Lion King, Wicked, The Book of Mormon and Beautiful. Meanwhile, in its final few performances, Violet saw its highest-grossing week and was just shy of hitting full capacity. The Roundabout production, starring Sutton Foster, began performances at in March and ended its limited engagement on August 10 as scheduled.
