A new leading lady is coming to the Cabaret, old chum. As we previously reported, Emma Stone will indeed make her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in the musical revival. The show has now officially confirmed that Stone will play a limited engagement November 11 through February 1, 2015, stepping in for Michelle Williams, who completes her run on November 9. The Roundabout Theatre Company production, starring Tony winner Alan Cumming as the Emcee, has also extended its run and will now play through March 29, 2015 at Studio 54.
Stone, who is best known for starring in the Amazing Spider-Man film series, had initially been tapped for the production, but scheduling conflicts did not allow her to open the return of the Tony-winning revival. Her other screen credits include Magic in the Moonlight, The Croods, Gangster Squad, Easy A, The Help, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Friends with Benefits, Paperman, Marmaduke, Zombieland, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, The House Bunny, The Rocker, Superbad and the upcoming Birdman.
In addition to Williams and Cumming, the show currently features Danny Burstein, Linda Emond, Bill Heck, Aaron Krohn and Gayle Rankin.
