Here's a quick roundup of stories you may have missed today.
Aaron Tveit Movie They Might Be Kennedys Delayed
They Might Be Kennedys, which Broadway favorite Aaron Tveit was set to star in opposite Glee’s Kevin McHale, has been postponed. According to the movie’s Facebook page: “We didn't get the film cast in time for our investors, so they put their money into another project. We have to push until June 2015 because it is a summer movie and it can't be shot on the Cape fall/winter. Funds will be available again for next year.” We hope so—we’re looking forward to seeing the duo play 1980s slackers who try to escape their dead end lives by pretending to be Kennedys. As you do.
Rory O'Malley & Gerold Schroeder Tie the Knot
Book of Mormon Tony nominee Rory O'Malley recently walked down the aisle with his fiancé Gerold Schroeder. One of our favorite photos on social media of the adorable duo’s big day was posted by Jordan Roth. Check it out below and congratulations to the happy couple!
Mary-Louise Parker's Love Letters
Stage and screen star Mary-Louise Parker is writing an "autobiographical literary work of nonfiction", which will be published by Scribner in the fall of 2015. Titled Dear Mr. You., USA Today reports that the tome will be comprised of a series of letters written to the most significant men in her life. While her exes wonder quite what they've got to look forward to, we're busy thinking that this sounds like Love Letters crossed with Tell Me on a Sunday and we want a Broadway adaptation planned immediately.
Darko Tresnjak to Helm Kiss Me, Kate
2014 Tony winner Darko Tresnjak (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder) will helm Kiss Me, Kate as part of the San Diego Old Globe’s 80th Anniversary. The classic Cole Porter musical will run July 1, 2015 through August 2, with opening night set for July 9. We can’t wait to brush up our Shakespeare!
Nathan Lane & Matthew Broderick's Sad Stroll Down Memory Lane
Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick recently stopped by The Tonight Show to talk reuniting on Broadway in It's Only a Play. Check out below as host Jimmy Fallon coaxes out of the duo "the saddest stroll down memory lane" that you've ever heard. Not really. But we're really pleased that Lane's anger management helped. Check out some of the fun and frolics below then see the double act in person at the Schoenfeld Theatre.
