Orphan Black headliner Tatiana Maslany and Tony-nominated The Newsroom star Thomas Sadoski will take the stage for the world premiere of Neil LaBute’s The Way We Get By. The Second Stage production will begin on May 12, 2015 at off-Broadway’s Tony Kiser Theatre and run through June 28. Leigh Silverman will direct.
In addition to BBC America’s Orphan Black, Maslany has appeared on screen in Eastern Promises, The Vow, Picture Day and the upcoming Woman in Gold. She makes her New York stage debut with The Way We Get By. Sadoski was nominated for a Tony for his performance in Reasons to Be Pretty; he has also appeared on Broadway in Reckless, The House of Blue Leaves and Other Desert Cities. His upcoming screen credits include Wild, Take Care, I Smile Back and the NBC miniseries The Slap.
The Way We Get By follows Beth and Doug, two people who wake up together following a drunken wedding reception they both attended. Forced to question how much they really know about each other and how much they care about what other people think, the two face a very awkward encounter revolving around love, lust and the whole damn thing.
The play will feature set design by Neil Patel, lighting design by Matthew Frey and sound design by Jill BC Du Boff.
