The 2015 lineup for Lincoln Center’s American Songbook series will include Tony winners, Broadway and TV favorites and musical theater royalty. The series, which spans from January 21 through March 28, will boast the talents of Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Porter, Allison Williams, Steve Reich, Stephen Sondheim, Judy Kuhn, Norm Lewis, Barbara Cook, Megan Hilty and more.
Kinky Boots Tony winner Porter and Tony nominee Lewis will perform solo shows at Frederick P. Rose Hall on January 28 and January 29, respectively. Both acts will be filmed and broadcast nationally as part of Live From Lincoln Center’s spring programming. On January 31, composing greats Reich and Sondheim will take part in a conversation moderated by WNYC’s John Schaefer; the event will also include performances by Paul Gemignani, George Lee Andrews, Kate Baldwin, Michael Ceveris, Alexander Gemignani and Derek Johnson.
The following month is equally star-packed. On February 4, Broadway alum Kuhn will perform a setlist of tunes from the composing dynasty of Richard Rodgers, Mary Rodgers Guettel and Adam Guettel. Stage and screen favorite and new mom Hilty will headline a solo show on February 6. Tony winner and 2014 Drama League Honors recipient Cook will headline Frederick P. Rose Hall on February 28.
They will be followed on March 11 by Jackson, Lindsay Mendez, Alexandra Silber and Darius De Haas, who will perform a selection of numbers from composer Ben Toth. Williams, following her live telecast performance in Peter Pan this December, will make her New York solo concert debut on March 27 and 28 in a show featuring her favorite songs that map out her life story so far.
The series will also include performances from John C. Reilly, Becky Stark, Tom Brosseau, Lea DeLaria, Danny Rivera, Nelson González, Meshell Ndgeocello, San Fermin, Talib Kweli, Dawn Landes, Joey Arias, Shovels & Rope, Steven Reker, Jose Llana, The Villalobos Brothers, Shaina Taub, Magos Herrera and Javier Limón.
