Minnie Driver has boarded the cast of NBC’s forthcoming Peter Pan Live! telecast. The Oscar nominee will play the narrator and adult Wendy Darling. An hour-long behind the scenes special is also set to air on November 26.
Driver received an Oscar nomination for her performance as Skylar in Good Will Hunting. She can currently be seen in the NBC series About a Boy. Her many additional screen credits include Stage Fright, I Give It a Year, The Riches and The Phantom of the Opera.
Additional cast members include Taylor Louderman, Alanna Saunders, Caitlin Houlahan, Jacob and David Guzman, Chris McCarrell, F. Michael Haynie, Dyllon Burnside, Garett Hawe, Ryan Steele, Bryce Ryness and Charlie Williams.
A Great White Way family classic, Peter Pan premiered on October 20, 1954 at the Winter Garden Theatre, featuring a book by J.M. Barrie, music by Mark “Moose” Charlap and Jule Style, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden and Adolph Green, direction and choreography by Jerome Robbins and Mary Martin in the lead role of the boy who won’t grow up. NBC has broadcast the musical live a total of three times previously: in 1955 (when it reached 65 million viewers), 1956 and 1960. The show has been revived five times on Broadway since. The tuner's classic songs include “I’m Flying,” “I’ve Gotta Crow,” “I Won’t Grow Up” and “Never Never Land.”
