Billboard Honors Idina Menzel & Ariana Grande
Broadway superstar Idina Menzel and Great White Way alum Ariana Grande will both be celebrated at this year’s Billboard Women in Music Awards. Menzel is set to receive the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award, while Grande will pick up the 2014 Rising Star gong. Yes, we’re clearly already trying to work out how to smuggle ourselves into the December 12 ceremony in New York City.
Helen Mirren's Radical New End in B'way's The Audience
The upcoming Broadway transfer of Peter Morgan’s The Audience, starring Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II, will have a different ending to the 2013 West End version. “Peter will always be re-writing! For Broadway, it will be essential,” the show’s director, Stephen Daldry, told the L.A. Times. “The end will have to change quite radically to reflect the exact moment in current events.” Daldry also revealed about the new 2015 London production, which will be headlined by Kristin Scott Thomas, that they’d “built a new show around her.“ Long may the Queens reign over us!
Amazon Taps Alan Cumming, Brian Dennehy & More
Pilot season is on its way and Amazon has a number of new shows on its slate starring a host of Broadway alums. Tony winner Alan Cumming will appear in The New Yorker Presents, a 30 minute docu-series based on content from the magazine. Tony winner Brian Dennehy and Sam Trammell will feature in the hour-long dark comedy Cocked, while Ben Chaplin and Billy Zane are set for Mad Dogs, based on the U.K. series of the same name. Tony nominee Rufus Sewell will star in the spy drama The Man in the High Castle, produced by Ridley Scott. And finally, Patrick Heusinger and Adrienne Warren have been tapped for Point of Honor, an hour-long, Civil War drama. We’ll be watching!

Tinker Bell may be set to appear on Broadway in Finding Neverland and on TV in Peter Pan Live!, but this movie, featuring the vocal talents of Broadway bombshell Megan Hilty, has the fairy taking center stage. Tinker Bell and The Legend of the NeverBeast's cast also includes upcoming Love Letters star Anjelica Huston, along with Great White Way alums Raven Symone and Lucy Liu.
