Odds & Ends: Cameron Diaz Is a Foul-Mouthed Hannigan, Another Look at Into the Woods & More

Cameron Diaz Owes Quvenzhane Wallis $$$
...Or vice versa? When the new Miss Hannigan stopped by Late Night earlier this week, she seemed a little too into yelling at kids…and cursing. “They are in an adult situation,” she told Seth Meyers of the youngins playing the foster kids. “If you don’t like how adults talk, don’t be in an adult situation. That’s how I do.” Apparently, she also tried a really backwards version of the swear jar, in which those who don’t drop f-bombs have to put in money. So remember, kids: You’re never fully dressed without a f*cking smile.

Ghosts Haunt the McKittrick
The McKittrick Hotel, home of the ever-spooky Sleep No More, will play host to another show next month. Ghost Quartet, a song cycle by Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 composer Dave Malloy, will play the Chelsea hotspot for eight performances only beginning January 5, 2015. Joining him are Natasha, Pierre… alums Brittain Ashford, Gelsey Bell and cellist Brent Arnold. Annie Tippe will direct the tuner, which weaves four eerie narratives spanning seven centuries.

The Lion Will Roar…Again
The Lion, an autobiographical musical written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer, will play off-Broadway’s Lynn Redgrave Theater beginning February 3, 2015. The show, which follows Scheuer’s journey through love, loss, family loyalty and the redemptive power of music, was presented by Manhattan Theatre Club at New York City Center earlier this year, and had previously played Lincoln Center and London’s St. James Theatre. Opening night for the latest incarnation is set for February 8, and the show will run through March 29.

New Look at Golden Globe-Nominated Into the Woods
The film adaptation of Into the Woods received three Golden Globe nominations on December 11 for Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep and Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical. If that were enough to make you happy now and happy hence, kick of the weekend with this brand new TV spot, boasting the flick’s latest award nods. The spot includes some new footage, including a super-glam Meryl Streep and a rather suave Chris Pine. Is it Christmas yet?
