Lea Michele Takes On 'Let It Go'
We have our first promo for the final season of Glee and it's looking like a classic. Lea Michele is belting out the Frozen anthem "Let It Go," Jane Lynch's Sue Sylvester is as menacing in her tracksuit as ever—what more could you wish for (apart from Funny Girl on Broadway?!)? Fox's musical comedy will kick off its sixth season with a two-hour episode on January 9, 2015.
Marc Kudisch to Star Opposite Laura Osnes
Marc Kudisch will join the previously reported Laura Osnes in the upcoming New York workshop of the new Broadway-bound musical Somewhere in Time. Based on the novel by Richard Matheson and the subsequent 1980 film, the industry-only presentations will be directed and choreographed by Dan Knechtges in February 2015. Kudisch, who starred in the musical's world premiere production at Portland Center Stage in the spring of 2013, will reprise his role as William Robinson, the controlling manager of actress Elise McKenna (Osnes).
OBIE Judges Announced
Playwright Adam Bock, orchestrator Bruce Coughlin, director Lear deBessonet, scenic designer Mimi Lien, critic David Rooney, Village Voice critic Tom Sellar, director Liesl Tommy and Michael Feingold will form the judging panel for the 2015 OBIE Awards. Off-Broadway’s highest honor is now in its 60th year.
Maggie Gyllenhaal Fell for Tom Stoppard at 17
Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is currently starring on Broadway opposite Ewan McGregor and Cynthia Nixon in The Real Thing, recently stopped by The View (guest co-hosted by a certain Keke Palmer) to talk about the show and her on screen role in The Honorable Woman.
