Jasper’s going to Washington! Jasper in Deadland, which played off-Broadway’s West End Theatre at the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew earlier this year, will find new life in Seattle. The title takes the place of Something Rotten, which will head directly to Broadway this spring instead of playing the 5th Avenue Theatre. Jasper in Deadland will begin performances at the venue on April 30, 2015 and officially open on May 14. Brandon Ivie will direct the limited engagement, which will run through May 24.
Jasper In Deadland followers 17-year-old Jasper, who faces demons, gods and monsters while in search of his best friend. The musical, with music and lyrics by Ryan Scott Oliver and a book by Oliver and Hunter Foster, explores what it means to die and to truly be alive.
Casting for the 5th Avenue Theatre production has not yet been confirmed. Broadway favorite Matt Doyle starred in its original incarnation, along with Allison Scagliotti, Ben Crawford, Andi Alhadeff, Leo Ash Evens, Danyel Fulton, F. Michael Haynie, John-Michael Lyles and Bonnie Milligan.
