Madam Secretary Renewed
CBS has renewed the hit TV show Madam Secretary. Starring a host of our Great White Way faves including Patina Miller, Bebe Neuwirth and Sebastian Arcelus, along with Jersey Boys movie standout Erich Bergen, the political drama has been averaging 14.9 million viewers per episode in its first season.
Who is Aladdin?
Disney's Aladdin, the musical comedy based on the hit animated film, will be the subject of an entire category on Jeopardy! on January 15. The CBS show will incorporate special performance footage from Aladdin in each of the category’s clues, so catch Adam Jacobs, Jonathan Freeman, Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart and Courtney Reed on your TV screens later this week, and then in person at the New Amsterdam Theatre.
Anthony Hopkins & Ian McKellen Team Up
Ronald Harwood’s classic play The Dresser will be adapted for the small screen, starring Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins as Sir and Tony winner Ian McKellen as Norman. Helmed by Tony-winning stage legend Richard Eyre, The Dresser is set against the backdrop of World War II and inspired by Harwood’s own experiences as a dresser for the distinguished British actor/manager Sir Donald Wolfit. This will be the first time Hopkins and McKellen have worked together and will air on Starz in the U.S. and the BBC in the U.K.
